Project 5000 is founded on an unforgettable experience in the life of Jesus—the feeding of the 5000.  Jesus took 5 loaves and 2 fish offered by a small boy and multiplied them to provide more than enough food for a multitude.

Project 5000 allows us to give our own small contribution of food and see it multiplied into greater usefulness.

Last year was the fifth year that Linden Road Presbyterian Church participated in Project 5000.  In 2013 we filled 105 boxes of food which would prepare 2835 meals. In the past five years,

5000 has generated 12,609 meals!!

The Mission Committee is working with The Salvation Army Mansfield Corps with this project.  The Salvation Army provides food boxes prepared to offer 3 meals for 3 days based on family size.  Please see the Linden Letter for complete information about this year's Project 5000.

We have completed our 2nd year of our Pots & Pans Ministry.

So far we have served a total of 36 families in our community. These families have been very grateful for our support.

Recently LOVE Inc., the organization that started this ministry, sponsored a dinner for all the churches involved in this ministry. It was held at the Berean Church with approximately 80 people in attendance. Each church shared what they continue to work in this ministry. Each church does something different. Chuck Kerg, Ruth Sweval and Margaret Roper attended this dinner. It was a very informative and enjoyable evening.

This is an ongoing ministry and we will continue to need your support. Requests continue to come in for small pots, large pots and pans for baking, plastic plates and glasses for families with children.

Again we want to thank you, our church family for all you are doing to help us fill the request of the needy in our community. And, for those who to help us on our “clean and wrap“ days. It’s a lot of work but we have lots of fun doing it.

Mission Accomplished!
Thank you LRPC!

Thanks to the generosity of our members, we reached  our goal to raise $1500.00 for the Heifer Project-Passing on the Gift. With that $1500.00, LRPC contributed 1 Heifer, 1 Water Buffalo, 1 Llama, 1 Goat, 1 Sheep, 1 Pig, 3 Flocks of Chickens, 3 flocks of Ducks and Geese,  1 colony of Bees, and one group of fruit trees to God's Global Barnyard. The cornerstone of Passing on the Gift is each recipient family passes on the gift of their animal's offspring to another family in need. This is one way LRPC is helping to end hunger and poverty in our world.
